MILWAUKEE — There could be a new pedestrian plaza just in time for the 50th anniversary of Summerfest in 2017.

The plaza will lead to Summerfest’s Main Gate under the I-794 bridges — an area that’s pretty well-protected from sunlight and water.

The plan was unveiled by architects Wednesday, November 9th in the Third Ward.

One of Summerfest’s most popular stages is also getting a major makeover — the Miller Lite Oasis stage.

The multi-million dollar upgrades are expected to be finished before Summerfest 2017.
