Students learn sign language to help hearing-impaired classmate feel included

ALMANANCE COUNTY, N.C. -- A group of students in a North Carolina classroom are dedicated to making one of their classmates feel included.

Kids at Sylvan Elementary School in Snow Camp, North Carolina, are learning sign language to ensure their hearing-impaired classmate, Jordan, doesn't feel left out, WFMY reports.

There are 50 children participating in the sign language class, which meets every week after school. It was so popular the school had to add another class.

The students are getting so good at signing that they've actually been seen using sign language as a way to communicate in the hallways.
