Sheboygan police arrest 3 teenage boys, accused of vandalism at Cargill Malt factory

SHEBOYGAN -- Sheboygan police say three 13-year-old boys were arrested in connection with vandalism at the Cargill Malt factory near 15th and New Jersey Avenue in Sheboygan that took place during the overnight hours of Sunday night, November 20th into Monday morning, November 21st.

The boys were arrested on Wednesday -- when police responded to the facility for a report of an alarm. They were arrested on charges of burglary and damage to property.

Police say on Wednesday, officers found someone had entered the facility by breaking a window.

A suspect was spotted fleeing the facility and disappeared behind the main factory.

Numerous officers responded, and after hours of searching, one boy was located hiding in the building. Police say it was determined this boy was acting alone on Wednesday night, but his arrest led to the identification of two more suspects from the Sunday night/Monday morning incident. They too were located and arrested.

Police say the interior of the facility was damaged again on Wednesday -- but damage estimates haven't been released.

As for the vandalism on Sunday/Monday -- officials said damage estimates could be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
