Affordable housing proposal for Villard Avenue gains first Milwaukee endorsement

A group of first-time Milwaukee developers is looking to bring some new life into a Milwaukee neighborhood.

The group has received initial approval to build a four-story apartment building in the area of 36th and Villard.

It would feature 43 units -- many that will be reserved for low-income residents, along with a first-floor cafe or restaurant space.

Developers are working to get full approval from the city by February.
