Using phone app, Milwaukee police find armed robbery suspect

MILWAUKEE -- Thanks to the application called "Where's My Droid," Milwaukee police officers were able to solve an armed robbery.

According to Milwaukee Police Department, the robbery happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 10th, near South 7th and Lapham Boulevard. Officials say an unknown male suspect approached a 30-year-old Milwaukee woman, put an object to the woman's back and demanded her belongings.

The suspect got away with the woman's cell phone and two pieces of jewelry.

Using the "Where's My Droid" app, officers were directed near Cesar Chavez Drive and National Avenue. There, officers found the suspect who had the cell phone and jewelry on him, as well as a BB gun.

Police say the suspect, a 41-year-old Milwaukee man and convicted felon, was arrested and faces charges of armed robbery.

Milwaukee police will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges in the coming days.
