Green Bay pulls away late, routs Milwaukee 80-56

MILWAUKEE — Khalil Small and Warren Jones each scored 14 points and Green Bay ran away from Milwaukee in the second half, routing its in-state rival 80-56 on Saturday.

Charles Cooper and Kenneth Lowe each added 10 points for Green Bay (16-11, 10-5), which moves one-half game behind second-place Oakland in the Horizon League.

Green Bay shot 50 percent from the field and all nine Phoenix who saw action scored, with eight contributing five or more points.

Cody Wichmann led Milwaukee (8-20, 4-11) with 13 points. The Panthers struggled offensively, shooting just 32.1 percent while facing a 10-plus minute stretch in the second half without a field goal.

Green Bay led by 10 at the half and pulled away down the stretch. Two free throws and a layup by Cooper on back-to-back possessions gave the Phoenix a 68-47 lead with 3:56 left, and they held a 20 point lead the rest of the way.
