"I hope he makes it:" Investigation underway after man shot, wounded near 21st and Wright



MILWAUKEE -- An investigation is underway after a shooting Sunday morning, April 23rd near 21st and Wright. Officials said a 35-year-old man was taken to the hospital from that location, after a neighbor told FOX6 News he rushed to the victim's side after this shooting, and worked to save his life.

It happened around 6:30 a.m.

"Multiple, multiple shots," a neighbor named Jay said.

Jay said he was in his kitchen Sunday morning when gunfire rang out.



"I waited for it to stop, opened up the front door, came outside and I see a person laying there by the tree," Jay said.

Jay said he rushed over to the bleeding victim.

"I looked again to see if it was clear and I ran over there to him and I put my hands on his wound try and stop the bleeding," Jay said.

Police said the victim was shot during an argument with unknown suspects.  The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

MPD continues to seek suspect(s).

"We all have kids and have to live, just live, man," Jay said. "Whatever goes down, it goes down. I tried to save him though. I hope he makes it."
