2 dead, 3 injured, including child, following separate shooting incidents in Milwaukee



MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating four separate shooting incidents that occurred late Monday night, July 31st and early Tuesday morning, August 1st. Two people died and three others, including a child, were injured as a result of the shootings.

The first shooting happened around 10:00 p.m. near 47th and Center.

Police said an eight-year-old girl was outside a home and was struck by gunfire after multiple shots were fired in the area.  The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

MPD continues to seek a motive and search for suspect(s).

The second shooting incident happened around 10:10 p.m. near 48th and Congress.

When police arrived on scene, they found the victim, 55-year-old Norman Lee of Milwaukee, had been shot in the street.  Despite life-saving measures, the victim died at the scene.

MPD continues to seek a motive and search for suspect(s).

Police responded to the scene of another shooting around 11:05 p.m. in the area of 84th and Bender.

Police said a 22-year-old Milwaukee man and a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman were inside a parked vehicle when an unknown suspect approached them and shot them. The man, now identified as Dontra Henning Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

MPD continues to seek a motive and search for suspect(s).

Incident near 74th and Florist. Police say this incident is connected to shooting near 84th and Bender.



The fourth shooting incident happened around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday near 24th and Townsend.

Police say a 49-year-old Milwaukee man was approached by a male suspect and was shot.  The preliminary investigation reveals that a prior argument may have led to the shooting.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
