"I'm washing blood off my arms," said Darelynn Johnson.

Still in disbelief from the night before, Darelynn Johnson recounts the moments she held a stranger's hand as he took his last breath.

"I'm like, 'Sir, just tell me  your name.' He's like, 'My name is Clarence.' I'm like, 'Clarence, you believe in God.' He's like, 'Yes I do.' I'm like, 'Well, pray with me,'" said Johnson.

The 31-year-old says she was outside her sister's apartment near 75th and Glenbrook around 9:30 p.m. Friday night, September 15th, when residents inside told her the pizza delivery man had been shot in the chest.

Police identified the victim as Clarence Taper.

"I'm like, grab me a towel and I'm about to apply pressure. It was just my first instinct. That was the first thing that flew out of my mouth," said Johnson.

Next, Johnson instructed bystanders to call 911 while calling the man's family herself.

"I pressed 'contacts' and the first name I see was Sharon. I'm like, 'Who's Sharon?' He's like, 'That's my daughter.'"

The mom of three says she doesn't have any medical experience, rather she credits her favorite television show for keeping her calm in a traumatic situation.

"I honesty can say I watch a lot of 'Law and Order,'" said Johnson.

Milwaukee police are investigating the incident as a robbery. Johnson says the 60-year-old was still alive when paramedics arrived on the scene, but he wasn't able to say goodbye to his daughter.

Johnson hopes her final moments with Clarence, bring his loved ones some comfort knowing he didn't die alone.

"I just want to let them know he was strong and he was holding on," said Johnson.
