MILWAUKEE — Grab your coins! A new arcade bar is opening in downtown Milwaukee!

Officials with 1983 Arcade Bar announced on Facebook the grand opening celebration is set for December 21st beginning at 4:00 p.m.

During that celebration, the first 50 customers receive 20 free tokens. Additionally, there will be happy hour deals all night long, and $1 off beers, $2 off cocktails and $3 specialty shots.

And most importantly of all — 25-cent arcade games!

According to the website for the 1983 Arcade Bar, the owner, Michael Sampson loves attending so-called “barcades” across the country and is excited to finally bring one to Milwaukee.

The inspiration for the name comes from his birth year and also is the year that Nintendo was launched in Japan.

1983 Arcade Bar will feature 22 arcade classics, four pinball machines, one bubble hockey and a bi-monthly rotation of games.
