15-year-old runaway accused of leading deputies on high-speed pursuit; crashing into semi

GERMANTOWN -- A 15-year-old runaway led deputies on a 10-mile pursuit Wednesday afternoon, December 20th, reaching 100 miles-per-hour. It ended when the vehicle the teenager was driving struck a semi.

Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office said the teenager was driving a vehicle stolen out of Racine -- an older tan Toyota. Around 2:30 p.m., investigators learned from Dodge County sheriff's officials that the vehicle was driving recklessly on I-41.

Washington County sheriff's deputies spotted the vehicle on County Highway K and the pursuit began.

The crash involving the semi happened near Lannon Road in Germantown.

The 15-year-old was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, felony eluding and operation without a license. He was turned over to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office as he was a reported runaway from a facility in Racine County.
