"One of the biggest names in comedy and pop culture, Kevin Hart, is going to come to Milwaukee and be a part of our opening season," said Dustin Godsey, chief marketing officer.

Hart joins Maroon 5, Jim Gaffigan, Foo Fighters and Elton John -- all set to take the stage during the arena's inaugural season.

"This is what we've been anticipating. We've been working hard to get these big-name artists, who haven't been to Milwaukee or haven't been here in a while, to get them into the building for the new season," said Godsey.

Godsey said his staff is aggressively reaching out to performers -- touting the arena's sound system, stage seating and backstage hospitality.

"We want this to be a building that artists remember. They think about Milwaukee and the experience they had coming here," said Godsey.

The first five headliners are just the beginning. Arena staff hope to host 200-300 events and games each year.

"We've got a ton coming through here and you're going to see that as we make more announcements," said Godsey.

Godsey said Monday, Jan. 29 construction is right on schedule -- with the opening expected in the fall of 2018.
