WAUKESHA — Waukehsa fire officials are investigating a garage fire that happened Wednesday night, Feb. 7. The call came in around 8:00 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to the area of The Strand and Regent Street for reports of a vehicle fire inside of a detached garage.

Upon arrival, fire department personnel found a two-car detached garage with one vehicle inside on fire. While stretching hose lines, the overhead door collapsed down — creating a rush of air causing the fire to flash and engulf the entire interior of the garage.

Firefighters were able to quickly pull the overhead door down and extinguish the fire, keeping it contained to the garage.

There were no injuries reported.

Damage is estimated in excess of $20,000.

The cause remains under investigation but does not appear to suspicious in nature.
