Drivers take note: Michigan St. bridge in downtown Milwaukee to be closed on Tuesday

MILWAUKEE — The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) announced on Thursday, Feb. 22 that the Michigan Street bridge over the Milwaukee River will close Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for hydraulic repairs.

Traffic will detour off W. Michigan at N. Plankinton on the west side of the bridge, and off E. Michigan at N. Water St. on the east side of the bridge.

Pedestrians will still have access to the Riverwalk during this project.

The bridge and roadway will re-open on Wednesday, Feb. 28 – weather permitting.
