Police: Milwaukee man suffers stab wounds to head and neck, 1 in custody



WEST MILWAUKEE -- A 43-year-old West Milwaukee man was taken into custody following a stabbing incident that happened late Thursday night, March 1. A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was injured.

According to police, around 11:45 p.m. West Milwaukee police were called out to the area of 38th and National for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a 28-year-old Milwaukee man with several stab wounds to his head and neck.

Officers provided medical aid to the victim until the Milwaukee Fire Department arrived on scene. The victim was stabilized and transported to Froedtert Hospital  -- where was treated and later released.

The suspect in this incident, a 43-year-old West Milwaukee man, was reported to have fled to an apartment building near 38th and National.

Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect -- but he refused to cooperate.

After the suspect briefly exited his apartment and quickly retreated -- officers forcibly breached the door and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Charges against the suspect are currently being sought.
