Brookfield police: 79-year-old man crashes moped, suffers life-threatening injuries

Traffic incident on Capitol Dr.

BROOKFIELD — Police say a 79-year-old Brookfield man suffered life-threatening injuries after a wreck on Capitol Dr. on Monday, May 28.

The incident happened on Capitol about a quarter-mile east of Barker Road just after 1:30 p.m. Officials say the man lost control of his moped and crashed.

Witnesses to the crash immediately pulled over and attempted to help the operator.

The crash is now under investigation by the Brookfield Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.

The City of Brookfield Fire Department, Flight for Life helicopter and Town of Brookfield Police Department assisted in the crash investigation.
