MILWAUKEE — A subcontractor working on a paving project struck a 12-inch water main on Tuesday morning, June 5 — prompting Marquette University High School to close early.

Officials from the Milwaukee Department of Public Works said properties near the water main break experienced a water pressure reduction.

Water service was shut off completely to Marquette University High School (MUHS) and three other businesses in the area.

Officials said water has since been restored to those businesses, but not to MUHS as of yet.
