According to a Coast Guard Captain, Coast Guard security discovered the package near the front door of the building around 7 a.m. Friday morning. They called Milwaukee Police and evacuated the building. Sailors across the street at the Naval station also evacuated.

"Kind of scary. Very quiet area otherwise," said Carla Redlin who lives nearby.

"They just said they had everything blocked off. The police had everything taped off around here and you couldn't get down to the 794 bridge," Redlin said.

The bomb squad arrived around 9:30. FOX6 News watched as they suited up and dropped their equipment near the package. Shortly after 10 a.m., they moved people another 100 yards away from the building and detonated the package.

Milwaukee police have not said what was in that package.
