'This is a shock:' Couple found shot to death in vehicle near 5th and Randolph in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Two people were killed in a double shooting on Milwaukee's north side early Monday morning, July 9.

It happened near 5th and Randolph at around 1:15 a.m.

Police have identified the victims as Brandon Joiner, 31, and Chavaye Clarke, 27. According to police, they were found dead in the back of a car.

Family members said the two, who were engaged, wanted to have children together, and the family believes someone may have wanted to end their relationship.

They were killed in front of Joiner's mother's home.

"All of this is a shock. I woke up to banging on my bedroom door. 'Brandon's shot. He's found dead in his truck,' and I come to see. I turned the corner right here. All the lights flashing," said Tyrone Joiner, Brandon's father.

Brandon Joiner's father said he believes a jealous ex may be involved.

"Family is taking this loss seriously. There's a lot of family members and people who just don't know right now," said Tyrone Joiner.

Friends say Clarke had three young daughters.

"It's just sad. The whole thing is unfortunate and sad. Whatever needs to be known -- everybody just needs to speak up. People just need to speak up because there's too many murders going on and nobody's saying anything," a friend said.

Officers and detectives are investigating -- seeking a motive and suspect(s).

"Justice will prevail," said Tyrone Joiner.
