4 juveniles, dog hit with 'high-powered pellet gun' while walking Hank Aaron Trail

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a recklessly endangering safety incident involving a pellet gun after four juveniles and a fifth person's dog were struck by pellets near 35th and Canal on Wednesday night, July 18.

The juveniles were shot while walking the Hank Aaron Trail near Three Bridges Park in the Menomonee Valley, with the shots coming from a building above the bluff.

The victims suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. They were all taken to the hospital. We're told they will be OK.

It happened around 7 p.m. Streets surrounding the area where it happened were blocked off.

We're told the teens, who thought they were shot by a real gun, called 911. Police responded as though this was an "active shooter" investigation. They were able to find the pellet gun.

"That's shocking because I take this path every day to go to work and that changes it. It's like, you think about it -- you can get shot on your way to work," said Isaiah Doxtator.

MPD continues to seek a suspect. This is an ongoing investigation.
