8-year-old boy shot while walking near 34th and Locust; in stable condition

MILWAUKEE — Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department confirmed for FOX6 News a child was shot near 34th and Locust Monday night, July 30.

Police say the eight-year-old boy suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds while walking on the sidewalk.

At this time, it appears that at least two subjects were shooting from across the street toward a house when the victim was struck.

The police are actively investigating the circumstances behind this incident and a motive.  No one is in custody at this time.

The victim is at a local hospital and is in stable condition.
