MILWAUKEE -- Dozens of gunshot rang out Thursday night, Aug. 9 at a gas station near 27th and Capitol. The shooting resulted in two men, ages 47 and 48, receiving non-life threatening gunshot injures and one victim, a 41-year-old man, being fatally shot.

Several people witnessed the shooting as the gunman opened fire around 9:45 p.m. Surveillance video captured how it all unfolded.

In the video, the suspect is seen running from alongside a car, firing at a group of men near the pump. As gunfire is exchanged, flashes and gun smoke can be seen as two men immediately fall to the ground, while another close by is seen coming over after being struck as well.

"Just a war zone," said Citgo manager, Anand Mirle. "It was senseless."

Mario Johnson heard the shots and also saw the aftermath.

"People running, leaving their car. It was pitiful up here. I seen a couple of kids with their mamas," Johnson said.

People inside the convenience store are seen on video running for cover and ducking behind racks.

"Get panic, tried to hide under near the table under the chips tray," said Mirle. "Kind of scary for them."

Mirle says a clerk called the police right away.

"It's really bad. It's a killing for nothing," Mirle said.

Sadly this isn't the first incident police have responded to at the gas station.

"Robbery and shoplifting, looting -- all kinds of situations," said Mirle.

Mirle is disgusted by the crime, and disheartened that his business and customers are caught in the crossfire.

"The violence happens from the bad elements on the outside," Mirle said.

"There ain't nothing we can do about it," said Jackson.

While some like Robert Jackson are frustrated, he remains hopeful that it can end.

"It's all over town... The violence needs to stop," Jackson said. "Ain't no other way to say it but the violence needs to stop."

Police continue to investigate and say a person of interest is being sought. The identities of the victims have not been released.
