Police: 1 dead following shooting near 76th and Melvina Sunday morning

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened near 76th and Melvina early Sunday morning, Aug. 12.

According to police, just before 2 a.m., authorities responded to reports of gunfire and found an unconscious man in a yard.

 



Despite life-saving efforts, the man died from his injuries.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

This was among three homicides in Milwaukee on Sunday. The second occurred Sunday evening near 20th and Hopkins, where a 40-year-old man was shot and killed.

The third happened Sunday night near 10th and Burleigh, where the medical examiner confirmed a man was killed, and MFD officials said a child was among three shooting victims.

This, after nine murders in the first nine days of the month of August in Milwaukee.
