'Thank you for helping!' Waukesha police identify female who is non-verbal

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police were able to identify a female they found Monday morning, Aug. 13 -- with help from the public.

Police said the female who is non-verbal and has developmental disabilities was found around 10 a.m. in the Springdale Apartment Complex near Springdale and Bluemound. She was unable to communicate her name or address.

On Monday afternoon, police said on Facebook: "Thank you to all of our Facebook friends and media partners for helping to get the word out about this missing person. Many of you called in and provided information and tips which have led to the identity of the missing female. We have been in contact with her family and are currently in the process of reuniting her with her family. Thanks again!"
