Police: Man shot, killed near 37th and Oklahoma

MILWAUKEE -- A death investigation is underway near 37th and Oklahoma in Milwaukee on Saturday, Aug. 18.

Police tape surrounded the Oklahoma Gardens apartment complex.

Milwaukee police confirm there was a shooting, and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says it is a homicide. Police say a 21-year-old suffered a fatal gunshot wound and passed away at the scene.


Officials say shortly after 8:30 p.m., a tow truck arrived at the scene and took away a silver SUV. It's unclear if it's related to the death investigation however, the driver of the tow truck spoke with police before taking the car.

A suspect has been taken into custody and MPD continues to investigate.
