'Stay off the roads!' Heavy rain pounds Madison, strands some motorists along Mifflin Street
MADISON -- Heavy rain pounded parts of southern Wisconsin on Monday, Aug. 20. Among those communities hit hardest -- Madison.
Localized flooding was seen on several streets in the capital city -- including historic Mifflin Street. The high water stranded some motorists -- and did not seem to faze others.
The National Weather Service indicated as of 6 p.m. on Monday, 4.82 inches of rain was noted in Dane County in the Verona area. As of 10 p.m., the FOX6 Weather Experts said, per radar estimates and reports, there had been 8-10 inches of rain in the Verona area.
