Crash on Wisconsin Avenue damages gate needed to operate bridge

MILWAUKEE -- A crash on the Wisconsin Avenue bridge damaged one of the gates needed to raise and lower it.

The crash happened on Tuesday, Aug. 21 around 4:15 p.m.

Officials said bigger boats would not be able to make their way past this bridge until it is fixed.

Vehicle traffic didn't appear to be impacted by the crash.

DPW officials said the bridge was fine, but the gate was damaged when a vehicle struck it.
