Storm rips roof off of building, knocks trees down onto roadways in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY --In Jefferson County, many people woke up to storm damage Friday morning, Sept. 21. In Sullivan, parts of a roof were completely blown off of a storage facility.

Many lost pieces of their lives when the roof blew off and the rains poured in. Others had topped trees to deal with.

For friends of Candy Flood, it was a bit different. Flood was a collector who's passed away -- her stuff stored in the shed.

"You see, what she's loved and what she's collected now it's ruined and you're trying to sort it," said Pat Clark.

In the destruction of the storm it is a time to not only cleanup, it is a time to remember.

"I took care of a woman who passed away and we're cleaning out her stuff and we were in the process of cleaning it our and this happened," said Clark. I'm going to clean it and donate it to charity.

As friends know all too well the loss of their friend, who they loved, they are now having to come to grips with the loss of the things she loved.

Some things were water damaged because of the rain that poured in, but it seemed as if many people were able to salvage their stored items.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirmed almost 10 trees were down in the roadways in the area as well due to the storm.

Early on Friday, more than 500 people in that county were without power. And more than 1,400 people in Waukesha county were without power. We Energies has been working to restore power to customers.
