Upon arrival, officers located the man with injuries consistent with possible stab and gunshot wounds. Life-saving efforts were attempted, however, the victim died at the scene.

Juan Ortiz, owner of Chilango Express, a nearby Mexican restaurant, found the body.

"I see the body on the floor, and I don't know what happened. A little scared because it's never happened in this area. More safety -- watch out for my neighbors, but, you know, I need to do my job. I believe in the police because the police care for us," said Ortiz.

Brian Richlen has lived in the neighborhood his whole life.

"I talked to another one of my mechanics at my other shop here and he told me about the incident. It's not an everyday occurrence. It's not something you'd find normally happening here. It's usually pretty quiet," said Richlen.

He said he was uneasy to learn of a homicide investigation.

"Pretty shocking, you know? Where is this coming from?" said Richlen.

The West Allis Police Department is asking for anyone with information to contact Detective Caleb Porter at 414-302-8000.
