2-car crash in Cleveland sends 2 drivers to the hospital

CLEVELAND – Cleveland police are investigating a two car crash that sent both drivers to the hospital.

A neighbor told Fox 8 she watched as the driver of one of the cars was robbed as he was unconscious in the vehicle. Police, however, said that claim was unfounded.

The crash happened around 12:15 a.m. Monday along Warner Road at Jeffries Avenue.

According to Cleveland police, an 81-year-old man was driving a 2002 Honda minivan on Warren Road when a 32-year-old male driving a 2009 Volkswagen on Warner Road.

The vehicles collided head-on in the intersection.

The 32-year-old was extricated from his vehicle and taken to the hospital. The 81-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he was expected to be treated and released.

It took police more than an hour to respond to the crash. We reached out to the Cleveland Division of Police about the delayed response. The department responded: While it did take time for police to arrive, no victims were waiting for medical attention.”

Warner Road was closed from Jeffries Avenue to Vineyard Avenue but reopened around 4:30 a.m.
