2 seriously hurt after truck crashes into semi on I-43 NB at Moorland



NEW BERLIN -- I-43 northbound was shut down near Moorland Road after a crash Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 6. It happened around 12:30 p.m.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, a flatbed pickup truck pulling a trailer rear-ended a semi-trailer in the right lane of I-43.

The two people inside the pickup truck were trapped inside and needed to be extricated. Both were transported to Froedtert Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi was uninjured.

Initial investigation shows the driver of the semi and other traffic were slowing for a construction area when the pickup truck rear-ended the semi at a high rate of speed.

The scene wasn't cleared until after 4 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
