21-year-old man grazed by bullet while driving crashed into parked car near 50th and Hope

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are seeking a suspect after an attempted armed robbery and shooting that happened late Monday night, Dec. 3 on the city's northwest side.

People living along 50th Street woke up to several loud bangs around 11 p.m., followed by one big boom.

When they looked out their windows, they saw an overturned car and police lights.

Milwaukee police said a 21-year-old man and his friend had been sitting in the parked car when an unknown suspect came up to them and tried to rob them at gunpoint.

The 21-year-old drove off, lost control and flipped the car as the suspect shot at him.

A bullet grazed the driver. The passenger was unharmed.

The victim's car struck a gray van also parked along the block, leaving damage behind.

The Milwaukee Fire Department, which has a station located next to the scene, also responded to make sure the victim was OK.
