Officials: Semi driver reaching for sandwich causes crash, shutdown on I-43

MILWAUKEE -- All lanes have reopened on northbound I-43 near Good Hope Road following a crash involving two semi trucks on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

The backups started around noon, and the lanes reopened just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials say one semi driver was reaching for a sandwich when he rear-ended another semi that was stopped on the shoulder.

The driver of the parked semi was not hurt, the other driver was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
