Skeletal remains found on Oak Leaf Trail; police say foul play not suspected

MILWAUKEE — A body was found on the Oak Leaf Trail near Albion and Prospect early Saturday morning, Jan. 12.

Police said the skeletal remains were found shortly before 9:15 a.m.

The remains were that of a man, police said. They were discovered in a wooded area along the trail.

Police are working with the medical examiner to determine the person’s identity and a cause of death.

In an update late Sunday, Jan. 13, police said preliminary investigation has revealed this does not appear to have involved foul play.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, Jan. 14.
