'Be safe:' 3 students struck by vehicle outside Barack Obama School in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Three students were struck by a vehicle outside Barack Obama School in Milwaukee Thursday morning, Jan. 24. It happened around 8:15 a.m.

According to police, a vehicle spun out and went over the curb -- striking the students.

"It's kind of shocking but it's not surprising," said Katrina Moore.

Katrina Moore and Ricky Lane say they walk in this area almost every day -- and are not happy about the driving they see.

"Every day somebody is out here driving crazy. It ain't nothing new," said Ricky Lane.

Police say all the injuries were non-life threatening. The students were alert and talking when paramedics arrived.

Ricky and Katrina just ask drivers to keep kids in mind.

"Be safe and look out for the kids," said Katrina Moore.

"Look out for each other," said Ricky Lane.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash -- including if weather was a factor.

Police have not said whether any tickets were issued or if any charges will be filed.
