Snow removal operations end in Milwaukee; parking on both sides of street resumes

MILWAUKEE -- The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works concluded its overnight snow removal operation as of Wednesday, Jan. 30. The alternate side parking required during a declared snow operation was suspended.

That meant no alternate side parking would be required Wednesday night.

A DPW spokesman said in a news release Wednesday afternoon 2,100 citations were issued Tuesday night into Wednesday morning -- for drivers who failed to move their vehicles to the odd numbered side of the street by 11 p.m. so plows could come through.

The spokesman said 2,350 citations were issued Monday night and into Tuesday, when drivers were required to park on the even numbered side of the street.
