MILWAUKEE — Three people are hurt, including a child, following a single-vehicle crash that happened on WIS 145 near West Silver Spring Drive Tuesday night, Feb. 19. The force of the crash split the vehicle in half — with part of the debris landing on the opposite side of the highway.

Deputies with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 11:19 p.m.

A female passenger was seriously injured and remains in critical condition. A child is also being treated for injuries.

Officials say the male driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and taken into custody by the sheriff’s office. He’s being held on two counts of first-degree reckless injury and two counts of operating with a suspended license, causing great bodily harm.

All lanes were temporarily blocked in both directions on WIS 145 from I-41/45 to 76th Street early Wednesday morning due to the crash.
