70-year-old man hit, killed by plow driver in Oconto

OCONTO -- A 70-year-old man was struck and killed by a snowplow driver in Oconto on Tuesday, Feb. 26 -- the Wisconsin State Patrol confirmed. The victim was identified as Ernest Boucher.

The incident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m.

State Patrol officials said a City of Oconto snowplow driver was traveling eastbound on Pecor Street, located behind the Oconto Fire Department, when he struck Boucher, who was walking in the eastbound lane of traffic.

WLUK reported Oconto Mayor Lloyd Heier said the public works employee was driving the plow back to a shed at the end of their shift when the incident happened.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was handling the investigation because a city employee was involved.
