MILWAUKEE -- The Powerball jackpot was at $550 million on Tuesday, March 19 — ahead of Wednesday’s drawing -- the eighth largest jackpot in Powerball history.

The official jackpot Wednesday night was $562,100,000.

The lump sum option is worth a cool $335 million. The draw could produce the first winner of 2019.

The jackpot has climbed steadily since it was last won Dec. 26 in New York state.

Wednesday’s drawing was the 24th since the jackpot’s last hit. The current figure is the highest Powerball jackpot in seven months when October’s frenzy reached $687.8 million.

Wisconsin has 16 jackpot wins since Powerball’s 1988 inception. The state’s most recent jackpot winner was a Milwaukee resident in 2017.
