MILWAUKEE -- Police said a 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene of a triple shooting Thursday afternoon, April 18 on Milwaukee's north side -- that left three teenagers hurt.

Police said the victims, a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

"I just really heard the shots. About five to six shots maybe," said Ron Herron, neighbor. "The next thing I know it was taped off down there."

Police tape and squads lined the block near 36th and Courtland Thursday afternoon.

"It's sad, it's sad," Herron said.

Police say the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. The victims, a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to police, the victims are not cooperating with the investigation.

"It's ridiculous. They need to hold these kids accountable," said a neighbor.

The shooting happened just feet from Assata High School, and steps from a nearby apartment complex.

"It's not just today, it was yesterday, it was the day before, when is it going to stop," a neighbor said.

Neighbors say the violence is an all too common occurrence around here.

"It's just sad. It's really stupid, really," said Herron.

They are hoping the shootings stop so this block can get back to how it should be.

"I just hope it all comes to end, really. I don't want to see anybody hurt or go to jail, but something needs to be done," Herron said.
