MILWAUKEE -- It was quite a show along Milwaukee's lake front on Saturday, July 27. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds soared through the sky at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show. It was a special experience for the city, but for one Hartford family, it was incredible.

"Getting to enjoy the show and see the jets fly by. It's been a really cool experience," said Daniel Nicoson, sworn into the Air Force at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show.

Three members from a Hartford family were sworn into the United States Air Force. Standing on Bradford Beach, they took an oath together.

"When we were sworn in, I got to get a picture of the Thunderbirds," said Sylas Duehring, sworn into U.S. Air Force at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show. "Just seeing them around, like role models almost."

The three enlistees dreamed from land of someday being up in the air.

"I know for sure I'm going to start off working on planes and maybe cross-train into a pilot because it's super cool," Sylas Duehring said.

The Milwaukee Air & Water Show brings together the Military and the community, highlighting achievements and inspiring future generations.

Brian Kelly

"It's a great opportunity for our youth to see the United States Air Force is an opportunity for them to see them take advantage of the great United States Air Force," said Lt. General Brian Kelly, U.S. Air Force.

An unforgettable show made even more memorable by the promises made near the water.

"I'm ready for this chapter of my life," said Duehring.
