Police: 2 shot, wounded in separate incidents in Milwaukee, 1 taken into custody

MILWAUKEE -- Two people were hurt in separate shooting incidents that happened Monday night, Aug. 19.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a hospital for the report of a Milwaukee man, 18, who suffered a gunshot wound not believed to be life-threatening. The shooting occurred at approximately 10 p.m. in the area of 76th and Burleigh.

Police said an investigation into the circumstances and the motive was ongoing.

The second shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in the area of 12th and North Avenue. A Milwaukee man, 18, suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A Milwaukee man, 29, was taken into custody at the scene.
