Man killed in shooting stemming from family argument near 24th Place and Auer

MILWAUKEE -- A 48-year-old man was killed in a shooting near 24th Place and Auer Avenue early Saturday, Aug. 31.

Police said an argument between two family members resulted in gunfire.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 25-year-old man was taken into custody.

Police said the case would be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for charges.

This was one of three fatal shootings in Milwaukee during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

On Friday, a 21-year-old man was killed in a home invasion shooting police said was possibly drug related. That happened near 18th and Winona.

Also on Friday, a 46-year-old woman was killed in a shooting near 51st and Capitol. Police said she was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a minor crash, and she was shot when she exited the vehicle and confronted the driver.
