30-year-old man dead after falling into Milwaukee River; no foul play suspected



MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police confirmed a dive response Saturday night, Sept. 21 in the Milwaukee River. Around 9:20 p.m., the medical examiner confirmed a man's body was recovered. Police on Sunday, Sept. 22 confirmed he was 30 years old.

The dive response was taking place near Erie Street and Jackson Street -- beginning around 6:30 p.m.

This, after a man reportedly fell off a boat near the Hoan Bridge. Several people tried to rescue him, police said.

First responders worked in the dark, in 30-foot-deep water, to find the man, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.

Police said no foul play was suspected.
