4th person arrested in connection with THC vape manufacturing business in Kenosha

KENOSHA — Authorities have made a fourth arrest in connection with a black market THC vape manufacturing business. It was allegedly operated by Tyler and Jacob Huffhines. Their mother, Courtney Huffhines is also implicated.

Prosecutors say 19-year-old Hannah Curty worked at both of the Huffhines' known labs.

"Reasonable to believe she filled several thousand cartridges on her own," said Waukesha County Deputy District Attorney Lesli Boese.

Curty's court appearance came Thursday, Oct. 3, two days after 43-year-old Courtney Huffhines faced the same judge. Authorities say the operation was started by her sons -- Jacob and Tyler Huffhines.

Last month, authorities seized tens of thousands of filled and unfilled cartridges from a Bristol condominium. More recently, another suspected lab was uncovered in a locked room of Courtney Huffhines' Union Grove realty office.

Court documents state two criminal informants can place Curty at both locations.

"I do have time cards that were taken from the Kenosha county condo which indicates she was present on at least 11 days," Boese said.

Prosecutors also say Curty was scheduled to meet with investigators, but cancelled her appointment only to be arrested a few days later driving Tyler Huffhines' white BMW.

"The fact that she was driving that car would indicate she has considerable knowledge," Boese said.

Curty's attorney argued for a co-sign bond.

"She is currently a full-time student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She has no record whatsoever," said Patrick Cafferty, Curty's lawyer.

Instead, cash bond was set at $10,000. Curty was bonded out of jail Thursday evening.

If found guilty, Curty faces up to 15 years in prison. She is scheduled back in court on Oct. 11 for a preliminary hearing -- the same day Courtney Huffhines is also scheduled to return to court.
