Waukesha police: Pedestrian dies after being struck by train on Moreland Boulevard bridge

WAUKESHA -- A pedestrian was struck by a train and killed on the Moreland Boulevard bridge in Waukesha Sunday night, Oct. 6.

Officials said the Waukesha Dispatch Center received a call from the Canadian National Dispatch Center around 8:35 p.m. Sunday. When police arrived on the scene, they located a deceased female near the railroad tracks.

The death was being investigated by the Waukesha Police Department, the Waukesha County Medical Examiner's Office, and Canadian National Railroad.

The intersections of Whiterock Avenue and Moreland Boulevard, as well as Whiterock Avenue and Perkins Street,  were shut down for roughly five hours.

No other injuries were reported.

Officials said they were not treating this as a criminal investigation.
