Police: 1 dead, 1 wounded following shooting near 40th and Hopkins in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating after two people were shot, one of them fatally, near 40th Street and Hopkins Street Tuesday evening, Oct. 22. It happened around 7:15 p.m.

Police say a 30-year-old Milwaukee man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound when exiting his vehicle near 40th Street and Hopkins, and was later taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Around the same, a 37-year-old man was dropped off at a local hospital and was treated for gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased.  Investigation indicated the 37-year-old was also shot near 40th and Hopkins.

The investigation is ongoing and fluid and currently it is suspected the incident is robbery related.
