Police: 1 arrested after shots fired near Marquette University

MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University police on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 8 posted a safety alert on social media regarding a shots fired incident that happened near 22nd Street and Wisconsin Avenue.

The victim stated he was stopped at the stop sign at  23rd St and Wisconsin Avenue when an unknown suspect fired 3-4 shots, striking his vehicle. The suspect fled on foot.

Milwaukee police said one person was arrested, and they were seeking a second. No injuries were reported.

Neither the suspect nor the vehicle is affiliated with Marquette.

Meanwhile, investigators were working to determine what led up to this.



There was a similar incident about two hours prior near 46th and State in Milwaukee.
