Train vs. car wreck shuts down Bradley Road

BROWN DEER — A driver suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a train and a vehicle that shut down Bradley Road in Brown Deer for hours on Friday night, Jan. 17.

It happened at the railroad crossing near Bradley and Teutonia Avenue, where there are lights but no railroad crossing arms.

A preliminary investigation revealed the driver may have failed to yield to the train. The official cause was under investigation.

Officials were called to the scene to investigate. One crew was checking the tracks for any damage, and another analyzed the train for any damage. A third crew investigated the track and train communication system to determine whether everything was working properly.

Bradley Road was closed from about 8 p.m. until midnight, police said.
