Police: Striking driver, vehicle located after bicyclist killed in hit-and-run near 35th and Wright

MILWAUKEE -- A 39-year-old Milwaukee man died after being hit by a car early Sunday morning, Jan. 26. Late Sunday, police announced the vehicle and striking driver were located after asking the public for information leading to that person's whereabouts.

The crash happened near 35th Street and Meinecke Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Police said the man was hit while on a bicycle and the driver fled the scene. First-responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died as a result of his injuries.

Police said the striking driver was operating a maroon or red Pontiac G6 model year 2005-2010.

The vehicle was last seen heading south on 35th Street toward North Avenue.
